Liar is a project about self-deception inspired by Ripley's syndrome, a psychological condition whereby a delusional self-image and world is created based on inner fantasies and lies. A paper shredder is a mechanical device used to destroy private, confidential or otherwise sensitive information. Liar is built upon the shredding of sheets of paper depicting the deceiving words and images we craft. I use the gesture of shredding as a form of confession, as a way of exposing an inner struggle through the dismantling of lies. The identity of Liar is shown through promotional posters, exhibition design, and installation.
